SBB Double Track Expansion – Grellingen to Duggingen
Construction progress monitoring with automated DJI Dock 2 DroneCam
The single-track section from Laufen to Aesch BL is being expanded to a double track over approx. 4 km between Duggingen and Grellingen to increase capacity and enable additional train services. The project includes civil engineering works, platform extensions, and adaptations to level crossings.
As part of construction progress monitoring, two DJI Docks perform fully automated drone flights twice daily.
The use of automated drones allows efficient, regular, and weather-independent documentation of construction progress—without manual intervention on site. This saves resources, increases data accuracy, and enables reliable, comprehensive monitoring of the linear construction site with minimal effort.
Services
- Twice-daily drone flights over approx. 4 km of the tracks
- Horizontal and vertical accuracy of 2–3 cm absolute
- Automated generation and web publication of orthophotos and elevation models
