TEDAMOS Sonic

Measurement principle

TEDAMOS relies on a sound level meter data logger that was specially developed for monitoring tasks. It is equipped with a digital MEMS microphone of class 1.

When operated on batteries, the device can record sound pressure levels for a week. When connected to a power supply, it can record construction site noise, machine noise or other sound pressure levels for years. Thanks to its very small size, the sound pressure level meter can be installed both indoors and outdoors.

Applications/Services

Noise measurements & monitoring

Measurement of the sound pressure level at construction sites (construction noise). In Switzerland, the construction noise guidelines of the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) apply. It is important to understand that the guideline does not specify limit values in the form of [dB]. However, the guideline is based on the principle that measures must be taken to limit noise.

Permanent monitoring is one way of containing construction noise. This simple and cost-effective method promotes acceptance among neighbors and can be used to prove that the agreed working hours have actually been adhered to. Neighbors can be actively informed, significantly reducing the number of complaints.

Alarms

Customers rely on permanent noise monitoring with alarms so that site managers and foremen can be alerted at any time by SMS and e-mail about the noise generated in combination with vibrations. The construction noise guideline does not specify any limit values. In many cases, the user-defined limit values enable a reduction in noise in the surrounding area. This enables clients to positively influence their image and the acceptance of local residents.

Reports and certificates

Which demolition method is best suited in terms of structure-borne sound and noise pollution? On the basis of temporary measurements at the source of the noise (e.g. demolition hammer) and in the neighboring properties, the ideal demolition methods (percussion chisel, demolition miller, cutting, etc.), working hours or disposal methods (ramming, vibrating, low/high pressure flushing or drilling) can be selected in advance.

Which standard applies?

The Construction Noise Directive, cantonal guidelines, noise protection ordinance, hygiene law, DIN standard, SUVA noise directive, ordinance on the labor law, labor protection law or is it noise protection for railroad facilities?
We will be happy to advise you on the procedure and applicable law.
