The 15-year planning phase for the innovative FlemXpress cable car was completed in 2021. The gondola lift from Bartholet Maschinenbau AG operates autonomously and only when needed. Passengers can select their destination before boarding, just like in an elevator, and travel directly to their chosen station without having to change lifts.

The innovative TEDAMOS CraneCam technology was used during construction at the Startgels intermediate station. During the shell construction phase from July to December 2022, it was used to document the construction progress automatically on a daily basis. This documentation will enable work management and inserts to be located again with centimeter precision if necessary. Applications such as flatness analyses and formwork checks were conveniently carried out with the CraneCam.

The plan overlays also had the advantage that the companies involved did not have to be on site every day and construction checks could be carried out remotely.
